Dear Partners, Dear Colleagues,

we cordially invite you to the Central European International Week hosted by the University of Opole on 8-12 April 2019. This is the second time we undertake the initiative of making our colleagues connected and creating common grounds for further cooperation.We would like to invite all our partners to join the event and take part in any of the following modules:

  1. Guest lectures by visiting professors

The University of Opole runs several study programmes in English (hello.uni.opole.pl/study) in the disciplines ranging from humanities and social sciences to natural sciences. It will be our pleasure to invite you, your faculty members to visit us and share your knowledge by giving our students lectures, workshops, or seminars. The call for lectures will be sent in the next newsletter.

  1. Training sessions and contact seminars

Located in the very centre of Europe, connected to many universities on the continent and beyond, the University of Opole strives to establish itself as a meeting point for prospective collaborators to exchange experiences, discuss good practices, and make academic connections.

This year the issued to be discussed are the following:

  1. How to combat discrimination in the academic context

  2. Transnational Entrepreneurship, workshop for academic teachers

  3. International Credit Mobility - risks and rewards

  4. Study programmes for international students: critical introduction

  5. How to make your paper publishable

  1. International Conference: Shortage Studies: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Deficiencies in Social, Cultural and Natural Contexts (9-10 April 2019)

The cost of participation in the International Week amounts to: 120 EUR and covers the training sessions and conference fees, trip to the Moszna castle, as well as the coffee breaks and lunch during the events.

Participation in all the events excluding the conference - 95 EUR

Participation in the conference only - 30 EUR

The organizers can help arrange accommodation at the university facilities or in the town. There will be a cultural programme and a possibility to arrange weekend trips before or after the International Week to the nearby Polish cities of Wroclaw or Krakow and to other European cities. The chance to explore Central Europe will definitely broaden the experience of our international colleagues coming from all over the world.
